Local Government: Municipal Demarcation Act, 1998 (Act No 27
of 1998) deals with Board's role and functions
pertaining to the demarcation of municipal boundaries.

Local Government: Municipal Structures Act, 1998 (Act 117 of
1998) empowers the Board to assess the capacity of
municipalities, and to delimit wards for local government elections.
